A.R. Yngve

Would you like to read a good book and not have to pay for it? Are you an author who finds it frustrating to try to sell your work only to be told that it is good but we are not interested at this time?

A.R. Yngve has decided he was tired of the rat race of trying to get published. A Swedish writer living in Norway who refused to give up. Unlike some of the other writers tired of dealing with the same frustrates who put portions of their books on-line, A.R. Yngve started to post entire books in serialized form on the Internet.

A. R. Yngve started by writing short stories and drawing images to go with them. He then started his own comics that were published in the Semic Press in Sweden. He soon gave up cartooning for the computer game business stating, "You can't eat art".

Since 1993 he has started writing novels and trying to get them published. He was told his work was good but "our schedule is to full". He even got told he was not "obscure" enough. This did not stop him from writing. He decided finally that if he could not get published he would put his books on the web.

Some of you may think it is foolish to put complete works on the Internet. Maybe it is and maybe it is not. It might be easier to 'steal' someone's work or ideas by web publishing but actually, if someone is going to 'steal' someone else's work they will do it no mater if it is on the Internet or in hardcopy form.

You also have human nature going for you. People tend to for some reason want to be able to touch and feel things. People also want the portability of a hardcopy. Publishers will eventually see not everyone wants to read what they say is the trend of what people are reading. We want to read what we want not what they think we want. We will now have more choices in what we read and where we can buy it because of the Internet. We now have access to undiscovered written treasures. Books that we would have missed out on because some publisher felt it was not worth their time to publish.

It is a shame the authors will not be making money from their work but then, the author who writes and publishes on the Internet is a writer who writes out of the love of writing. Loving what you do is a key ingredient to becoming great at doing it. And you never know, the attention it gets might just get a publisher to take notice of it.

I started reading Darc Ages by A. R. Yngve and found myself totally caught up in reading it. I was so engrossed in it that I got up to get a drink and only then I realized how long I had been sitting there reading. I have not finished it yet but plan to as soon as I can. You may not be able to sit on the couch and as they say curl up with a good book but I would suggest you get comfortable and check out his site. I think you will also get engrossed in reading of any of A.R. Yngve's books.
