Catchpenny - Dajom

Catchpenny a band formed in 1994 has had many changes between then and now. The band has only two original members, Michael Henry (bass guitar) and Michael Seven (vocals). The name has never changed and the 'fun' in playing continues on for the band.

Though the members had changed their first CD "Little Shut Up" was the music written by the original members. It was well liked by the local fans. Then the newest members Brian Ferrell and Jeff Gretz added their influence to bring about the music in "Dejom". I have not heard their first CD but "Dejom" is great! It's an interesting mix of tempo changes and diversity. The vocals are solid and strong.

I tend to describe the music rock with alternative overtones. It's a harder rock sound. I feel most 'pop' music lovers would not like it, which is a shame because the music is good. My favorite songs from the CD are Summercamp and Kidding Myself. Little Shut Up I liked least of all. The vocals of the song are great it is just that it took until almost half the song before there were any notes changed. I found the total repetitiveness of it to become boring. If the vocals had not been so good I would not have liked the song at all.

It is a CD well worth checking out and a band to keep your eye on!
