ARID IS COMING
Double T/Columbia Records is releasing At The Close Of Every Day --
the debut album from the Gent, Belgium-based band Arid -- to U.S.
stores on March 14, 2000. Driven by the haunting power and presence
of Jasper Steverlinck's vocals and the fresh young complexity in the
ensemble work of David Du Pré (guitar), Steven Van Havere (drums),
and Filip Ros (bass), Arid has become a major musical force in
Belgium where the band performs to rave reviews and sold-out houses.
The band's official showcase in Antwerp last April generated an
overflow crowd with more than 200 fans shut out of the SRO
performance. Arid's set was a highlight of Rock Werchter, Belgium's
biggest summer festival while the group's performance last September
at CMJ in New York was a provocative taste of things to come from the band.
Arid will appear in the support slot on the upcoming Counting Crows
European tour.
