Queensr˙che
announce the West Coast leg of their "Electric Shockwave" tour beginning June 6
in San Francisco, CA at the Warfield Theatre.
Following an exhaustive international tour of Germany, Belgium, Holland,
France, Switzerland and the U.K., Queensr˙che once again return to the U.S.
stage in support of their upcoming release, Queensr˙che Greatest Hits.
Leading up to a
National U.S. tour, "Electric Shockwave" will initially cover several major
West Coast cities. The first ten dates
are being announced today. Additional
dates will be announced at a later time.
On-sale dates in each market will be announced this week.
Queensr˙che will
release their first greatest hits collection on June 27 on Virgin Records. A comprehensive collection, Queensr˙che Greatest Hits will feature
14 of the best tracks from the six albums they recorded between 1984 and 1997
including the hits "Silent Lucidity", "Jet City Woman", "Empire", "Bridge" and
"I Am I", plus two bonus tracks, "Chasing Blue Sky" and "Someone Else?" One of the most distinctive bands of the
era, Queensr˙che’s brooding, provocative yet melodic music has ensured their
place in metal history and made them lasting favorites on two different radio
formats even as they continue to record and tour much to the enjoyment of their
sizable cult following.
Vocalist Geoff
Tate, guitarists Chris DeGarmo and Michael Wilton, bassist Eddie Jackson and
drummer Scott Rockenfield made their recording debut as Queensr˙che in the
early ‘80s with their own indie EP which sold 60,000 copies. Once they signed to EMI Records, the label
added one track and re-released it. It
launched a string of gold, platinum and multi-platinum albums and videos and
sold-out concert tours, which continues to the present.
The band’s official website, www.queensryche.com will offer updated
tour dates as they become available, news, downloadables, photos, cds, concert
tickets and band memorabilia.
