The CD starts off with a short sweet song called Dreaming and moves to Drifting which my first impression of is of a Tony Bennet song but better. The vocals show Mark's singing talent and diversity. His vocals show strength even in the softest parts of his music.

The music is of pop, folk rock with more depth written in to the music. The songs are for the most part sweet and simple but there is nothing simple about the music. Personally, the music reminds me of the Beatles, Simon & Garfunkle, Peter, Paul & Mary, and Tony Bennet. I don't think Mark would consider Tony Bennet an influence on his music or that he would give that impression to anyone but that was my first impression.

The music is skillfully composed and I feel that is what gives the depth to the music. Soft gentle ballads & pop/soft rock songs that have you drifting off to the music either from the gentle sweetness of it or its beat. In an interview with Maki, Mark noted he wrote the music to be enjoyed when driving on long trips. He felt it would give a balance to the stress of the driving. He succeeded in his goal but you don't need to be in a car to enjoy the CD!

I find the CD a little romantic, uplifting and just totally enjoyable. Unless you only like the hard sides of rock you will love this CD.
