Put in her CD and drift off to a soothing world of beautiful music with the very talented Monique Berry. Monique has a gentle soothing distinctive voice with depths of soul and inspiration. After one song her vocal talent captivates the listener with the soft gentleness to depths of strength that amaze the listener.
The music is diverse not quite fitting under one specific genre. Rhythm and Blues, soul, pop and a touch of jazz combined in a unique way is probably the best description I can come up with. In trying to compare Monique to someone to give a better description of her music the only name that seems to pop in my head is Barbara Streistand. I think that is due to the class and soul of Monique's vocals.
A very talented Monique mastered the flute at age nine and the piano at age 15 to facilitate her song writing and accentuate her vocals but her voice will always be the focus of her music.
She has done voice over for such companies as Coca-Cola and Mattel (Barbie) allowing her to work with such celebrities as Vanna White, Sly & the Family Stone, Phil Chen, Bett Midler and Steven Segail. Doing voice over's may pay the bills but her heart was in singing and it only took her two months to produce her CD which includes the exceptional talent of Warren Hall and Hans Zermuehin, among others.
