Granted Green, we trampled through the
summer
fast crushing grass
unbalancing stones & you,
strength,
leading on
thighs shaming maples
pointing out mushrooms
colored faces--
groomed gold, pebbled sky,
broken groung
w/crevices leading like cobwebs
to a full darkness
then led too far, too fast
I cried, made love, felt hope
hopeless happiness
that I would follow forever
even through shouting silences
rolling heartbeating
into a quietude that
is our own.
