Butch has been creating and performing in bands for over 10 years. Butch tends to write like one of his favorite songwriters, John Lennon in as the emotional personal lyrics and melodies that leave you singing them like you knew them all your life.

Butch’s CD is truly a work of art with his acoustic guitar and vocals blending smoothly into powerful songs. Derek Sivers, President of CDBaby states “Songwriting that is as good as and reminds you of the Beatles and Elvis Costello all in one. “ I am not sure I agree with this. I can not really label who Butch Berry reminds me of, I feel he is to distinctive in his work to actually be labeled as a'remind me of'. He truly shows his talent both in song writing, vocals, and playing. It is a CD that I feel anyone who appreciates talent will like.

Song Insights – as quoted by Butch Berry

Stranger – Being open to having new relationships. Recognizing signs of a desired union and making it the best as you can.

Butterfly – A song about falling in love, seeing someone without their faults, and the passions communicated poetically.

Same Breath – Inspired by meeting a film actress, then becoming obsessed with her so much and having the feeling of sharing oneness with her.

Cover It Up – The trials and tribulations of lying. Why some people may lie.

Quotes from other review”

Derek Sivers, President of CDBaby – “This is some of the best acoustic pop you have heard. Songwriting that is as good as and reminds you of the Beatles and Elvis Costello all in one. Listen to this in its acoustic form before Butch’s CD in a full band sound comes out. A real collectors item!”

The Global Muse – "Stranger has all of the ingredients of a classic acoustic hit"

The San Francisco Herald – "The depth of emotion and subtle interplay between the lyric and music adds a deeper dimension to the passage of love and relationship. From the first adventure into this music I was intrigued with his voice. The music caught my ear before the words began to register. The opening track is enchanting and set the tone for the whole CD. This is simple, elegant CD with strong insight and sweet harmonies."

Scott Doldrum, Imusic Promo – "I listened carefully to your songs and feel that it is better than 85% of the unsigned material out there

Hard Luck Café- "Pop smarts in the best sense of the term."
